3D Audio Zones - Docs
1. Direct Audio URLs (MP3, OGG, WAV)
Discord Attachment Method (Fastest & Free):
- Open Discord and go to any private channel or DM.
- Drag and drop your audio file (.mp3, .ogg, or .wav) into the chat and send it.
- Right-click the sent audio attachment and select "Copy Link".
- Paste the copied link directly into the Audio URL field in the menu.
Free Audio Hosting:
- You can also upload audio to sites like Catbox.moe and copy the direct link ending in .mp3 or .ogg.
Why YouTube & SoundCloud Links Do Not Work:
Standard YouTube and SoundCloud links are full web pages with video players and ads, not raw audio stream files. Convert or download your audio to an .mp3 or .ogg file first, then upload it to Discord or Catbox to get a direct link.
2. Live Internet Radio Streams (24/7)
- Supports 24/7 live Icecast and Shoutcast audio streams.
- Direct stream URLs with ports and mountpoints are supported (e.g.
http://stream.example.com:8000/live). - Enable the "Live Radio Stream" toggle in the creation form so the stream plays continuously in real time.
3. Local Sounds (custom/ folder)
You can add local sound files directly to the resource without external links:
- Place your audio file into the
ld_audioZones/custom/folder. - Format must be .ogg (Vorbis).
- Open
config.luaand register the sound underConfig.CustomSounds:{ file = 'bank_alarm.ogg', label = 'Bank Alarm', description = 'Loud commercial siren' } - Restart the resource or click the in-game sync button to see it in the menu.
4. Native GTA V Ambient Sounds
- Built-in GTA V ambient presets (alarms, fans, machinery, club beats, water, air conditioning).
- Click "Preview" in the menu to listen and test before placing the zone.
- Requires zero network bandwidth since audio files are already on the game client.
5. Placing & Customizing Zones (Mouse Pivot)
- Open Menu: Type
/audiozones(or/azones) in chat (requires admin). - Interactive Mouse Pivot: After filling out the form, aim your mouse/camera directly at the desired speaker location (wall, ceiling, table, DJ booth).
- [Space] or [Right Mouse Button]: Lock / unlock the pivot position in place.
- [E] or [Left Mouse Button]: Confirm and create the zone.
- [X]: Cancel placement.
- 3D Range Sphere: A real-time 3D wireframe sphere and ground marker display the exact reach and falloff distance of the audio.
- Volume Control: Adjustable from 0% to 100% in 1% steps.
- Loop & Interval: Continuous playback toggle + optional pause between repeats (in seconds).
- Playback Sync: Global timestamp sync ensures all players hear the exact same moment of the track.
- Zone Expiry (TTL): Optional auto-delete duration (e.g. 2 hours or 24 hours) for temporary RP scenes.
6. Managing Existing Zones
In the Existing Zones menu you can:
- Teleport: Instantly warp to the audio zone.
- Reposition Pivot: Aim with your mouse to move the speaker to a new position without deleting the zone.
- Edit Settings: Change volume, range, occlusion, loop, and intervals on the fly.
- Delete: Remove the zone permanently.
7. Streamer & Copyright Protection (Mute Button)
- Menu Button: Open
/audiozonesand click the Mute Zone Audio button to silence all zone sounds locally on your client. - Chat Command: Alternatively, type
/togglezones(or/mutezones) in chat. - This only mutes the audio for you — other players continue to hear it normally. Your mute preference is saved across server restarts.
